Hello! My name is Leanna Anderson and I’m a 29 year old Graphic Designer living her dream in the Big Apple. Currently, I am an Associate Art Director at Sotheby’s Home, an online interior marketplace for buying and selling luxury furniture, accessories, art, jewelry and watches.

After graduating from the State University of New York College at Oneonta in 2011 with a BA in Computer Art, I began working at a creative agency in Albany, NY until 2013. I was responsible for any and all areas of graphic design that our clients needed, so I was able to learn and grow very rapidly with the help of my amazing bosses. Here I gained experience across a wide variety of industries, ranging from hearing aid marketing to salons and spas.

In 2013 I was given a job opportunity at Williams Lea Tag in New York City, a chance for me to go out on my own and continue to pursue my dreams. There, I started as a Junior Designer and worked by way up to Senior Designer/Brand Guardian for the financial services company TIAA. During that time TIAA underwent a rebrand (changing their name from TIAA-CREF to TIAA). I was responsible for rebranding all of the marketing materials while working with their internal creative services team, and making sure that everything that went through the New York studio and the off-shore studio in Chennai, India was on brand.

After three amazing years of opportunity and growth at Williams Lea Tag, I took a Graphic Designer position with Viyet, which has since been acquired by Sotheby’s and now called Sotheby’s Home. This position was able to give me more experience working in the digital world, to really round out my skill-sets. Currently, I am the Associate Art Director. My role doubles as marketing manager and art director, reviewing site and email cadence to highlight appropriate content based on business needs and current inventory. I also own the communication of marketing plans to all cross functional partners and play a key role in integrating Sotheby’s inventory ecommerce platform, and mentors a junior designer.

Regardless of what my full-time job has been over the years, I have and will always have a passion for custom invitations and announcements. There is no greater feeling than making the special moments in people’s lives that much more special through my designs.
